Oblique Bullet

Oblique Bullet Impact on a Structural Steel Plate

In this project I was able to set a bullet at an oblique with an initial velocity to impact a structural steel plate.  To reduce calculation time, I ran only half the simulation across the symmetry plane.  This simulation ran the simulation for 1.5001x10^(-4) seconds and showed in both the equivalent stress and plastic equivalent stress contours that the bullet tore straight through the plate and dented the area around impact downwards.  We can also see the remaining shrapnel surrounding the site of impact.  This was a great exercise in the utilization of a symmetry plane, for faster results, and object interaction and initial conditions.
