Simulating Flow in a Static Mixer
In this project I took a static mixer and assigned two inputs and one output. The intent was for the two fluids to mix without mechanical interaction, and to analyze the temperature and velocity across the object. because of the complex shape, I had to acquire my results through streamlines, contours at the outlet, a temperature contour through the middle of the piece, and even velocity vectors by means of individual arrows. This piece can save energy my mechanically mixing fluids, but before any implementation can be made, one first needs to know how the fluid will react. Ansys 17.2 helped me to display the velocity and temperature change throughout the 3D mixing process, and highlight key areas.
